I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
